User data deletion instructions

Use these steps to ask for a copy of personal information Minder holds about you, or to ask for that information to be deleted. Minder does not delete this information automatically.

What Minder can hold from Messenger or Instagram

If you messaged a business on Facebook Messenger or Instagram, and that business uses Minder with the Page or Instagram account connected, Minder can hold:

  • The message text, the channel and the time it arrived.
  • An identifier from Meta for that conversation, such as a Page-scoped id or an Instagram account id.
  • A display name, where Meta provided one.
  • A profile photograph, where Minder was able to retrieve one.

Replies the business sent through Minder can be stored as well. Where a WhatsApp Business number is connected, Minder can also hold the WhatsApp message text, the time, a sender identifier and a display name when one was provided. Email stored from a connected Gmail account can also be held for that business.

Email a deletion request

Email minderhq@gmail.com. This is Minder's address for customer support, privacy and data protection enquiries, and personal data deletion requests.

In the email, ask for the information to be deleted and include:

  • The business you contacted.
  • Whether you used email, Facebook Messenger, Instagram or WhatsApp.
  • The name shown on the conversation, if you know it.

Sending that email does not delete the information automatically. There is no button on this page that deletes Meta user data, a customer, or a Minder account. Archiving a customer inside a Minder account is not deletion.

Removing Minder in your own Facebook or Instagram settings does not, by itself, delete information Minder has already stored.

What a deletion request asks for

A deletion request asks for removal of the person's messages, channel identifiers, names, photographs, uploaded files, follow-up tasks and briefing text drawn from those messages. Mail can remain in Google even if a copy in Minder is removed. Minder does not complete that removal from this page.
